In School Field Trips

Let us help you drive those concepts home with hands-on and engaging activities!

Preschool, kindergarten & 1st Grade Animal Programs

  • Homes and Habitats

In this Preschool program, we focus on observing, comparing and classifying animals and their environments. We look at what they need to live and grow in their environment. We also play sensory games that help us put some of the animals into categories. The students will get to make their very own feathery friend to take home! Standards we focus on: CD14M

  • Leaves and Lizards

In this Kindergarten program, we observe the differences between humans, plants, and animals. We also look into how to identify living and non-living things in terms of their: structure, growth, changes, movement, and basic needs! We dig through the dirt to meet some wiggly friends and the students will receive their very own superworm pet and plant! The standards we focus on: LS.K.1.1, LS.K.2

  • The Bear Necessities

In this First Grade program, we identify the basic needs of any living organism and talk about how they survive in different ecosystems. We talk about what an ecosystem is and what animals inhabit them. The students will then create their own ecosystem to take home and add a few animals to inhabit it.
The standards we focus on: LS.1.1

2nd & 3rd Grade

  • Critter Contrasting

In this Second Grade program, we compare and contrast the features of a variety of animals and identify their physical characteristics. We also dive into understanding animal life cycles and comparing how different and alike they are. After observing some model and live lifecycles, the students will get a new pet that will go through a life cycle of it’s own.
The standards we focus on: LS.2.1

  • Scales and skins

In this Third Grade program we take a look under the skin and experience the parts of an animal we usually can't see. We talk about different body systems using real organs and learn about why skin is so important for us to have. (This program includes preserved animal organs). The students will get to make and take home their very own skin friend! The standards we focus on: LS.3.1

4th & 5th Grade

  • Fantastic Fossils

In this Fourth Grade program, we will be learning how fossils are formed and looking at some very old examples of things that lived long ago! We will meet a few animals that had some very interesting ancestors and the students will get to make their very own fossils to take home with them!
The standards we focus on: LS.4.2

  • Adaptation Exploration

In this Fourth Grade program, we identify adaptations that help animals survive in their specific environments. We also look at how animals gather information about their environment through various senses and meet some friends who can show us some interesting ways they interact with their environment. The students will create and take home their own biome and create an animal that has to live in that biome ! The standards we focus on: LS.4.1

  • Beastly Biology

In this Fifth grade program, we identify and compare biological systems that help animals survive. (This program includes preserved animal organs). We will work hard to put those organs into categories and figure out which system they are involved in! After we talk about what makes us a multicellular organism; the students will make their very own unicellular organism to take home! The standards we focus on: LS.5.1

  • Reduce Decompose Consume

In this Fifth Grade program, we investigate the different producers, consumers, and decomposers that make up an ecosystem. We will meet a few animals who are consumers and decomposers, then the students will create their own ecosystem for their new pet worm to live in! The standards we focus on: 5.L.2
